Learning Colors is Fun!

Saw a friend doing something like this and thought it would be great for Liam and great  to share with other moms out there!

Learning colors is fun! All you need is a bag of pom pom balls you can find at the craft store, Some scraps of construction paper, and some plastic cups or you can also use a muffin pan!

Cut circles of construction paper to fill the bottom of your cups or muffin pan.

Lay out the pom pom balls using the same colors you used for construction paper and you are ready!

Lay them out and help your child learn!

Have a great Wednesday & Enjoy learning those colors! : )

Truck Birthday Goodie Bags

If you ask Liam, He would proudly tell you he is having a "garbage Truck" birthday!
I however would like to say it is a commercial truck and construction theme : )
But which ever way you prefer works for me.
For this project I used a lot of things from

I thought these Goodie boxes came out perfect, and I just know they kids are going to love them!
I started out using Chinese take out boxes that I got at Michaels Crafts for .98 each.
I also picked up scrap book papers that I used as the black and white stripe on the outside of the box, and found stickers and die cuts to put in the center.
Most of the goodies I purchased from Oriental trading. They have almost anything you can think of, great prices and inexpensive. I filled my goodie boxes with sign lollipops, a cone, 1 matchbox construction car, tiny signs, stickers, and a couple car gummy chews.
I thought they came together nicely and everything fit perfectly inside!
I used glue dots for a lot of this project, those are my go to glue!

I cant wait to see what the kids think!

Here is the finished goodie boxes they came out amazing if I say so myself : )

What do you think?
I can't wait to see what the guest think!

Here is a another photo, image of the content and close up of the box. Enjoy!

In the back groud you can see one of t he construction signs I will be using for the party!

Stay tuned for more of Liam's Second Birthday and truck loads of fun.......

Pasta Dogs!

I saw this on a friends website and thought I would try it out. This was so neat and Liam and my husband loved them!

First you cut a hot dog up into small pieces and then slip uncooked pasta through each piece of hot dog. Continue with desired amount of pasta.
Once you have them done place them in a pot and boil until pasta and dogs are cooked.

Wa-La!
You have Pasta Dogs!
Eat and enjoy! My family loves them! : )

Simple, inexpensive, Princess Party!

Liam's best friend Addie is turning 5 years old this week! We decided we would throw her a small little princess party at our house one afternoon after school. Most decorations were bought at Walmart, streamers, paper plates, napkins, princess wands, and balloons. I also stopped at the local Dollar Tree to pick up a few other items such as a tiara, punch balloons ( the kids love those) and a princess happy birthday banner. In total in decorations I spent $13.89.
I thought this came out really nice, I just used a foam butterfly I had laying around and some letter stickers and this came together perfect for the princess seat.

Streams really go a long way if you have patience and put some time in with these. I love doing this out from the center of the room and twisting it out. It makes such an impact for a low cost!

These wands go perfectly and I got a bag of 4 of them for under $2.00 at Walmart.

I just love these balloon sticks I found on Oriental trading website, they were just a few dollars for a big bag full and they really look awesome and you don't need helium!
I used shredded paper for the bottom of the vase to add some color and decoration.

The party was a huge success and was done so inexpensive! I love to bring joy to the kids and this certainly was a great princess party!

Happy 5th Birthday Addie!

It's A Mickey Birthday Party! Liam Turned One

Happy Birthday Liam! For Liam's birthday I decided on a Mickey theme, he seemed really into Mickey and I had some cute crafty ideas. I am all about maxing the look for minimum the dollar. Hope you enjoy all my Little touches and ideas.

I thought the invitations really set the theme from the start. These were handmade by my mom with card stock, buttons, printer and a sewing machine. Yes she stitched the pants (My mom is fabulous)

I love how she made everything just perfect to slip in the trousers, I also liked the little yellow slip that informed them on his size and things he wanted.

Decorations were a lot of fun to make. I thought the handmade really banner really turned out amazing.

I also thought the goodie bags turned out nicely. Filled with lots of Mickey mouse goodies. (they are pictured about the banner) I used the same templet as the invitations and also used buttons as well, however I did not stitch these.

Another cute decoration I used were these sad filled buckets, I then took sticks from the craft store and taped pictures from Liam's first year of life on card stock and then onto the sticks. It was a great way for people to enjoy memories and it was fun to look back on that year.
I also incorporated the letter blocks to spell out "happy birthday Liam" I thought they were just another simple but cute touch.

Another decoration that added a lot of bang for the buck was this little number.
I used very inexpensive crepe paper, and I found the middle mickey danglers at party city. It really helps if you tape out all the ends and then go back and twist and string into the middle.

One thing that the kids really enjoyed was right before cake Mickey himself showed up to the party ( my husband was thrilled when he had to wear it) but boy did the kids love him! and it really brought the party full swing! : )
Mickey and the birthday boy!
I also used this picture to make photo thank you cards from Walgreens to send to all the guest

The desert table really came out nicely, which we also used as the gift table. I choose to do cupcakes, I thought they would be easier for the kids. I did chocolate and vanilla but then just simple chocolate frosting with two red chips! They turned out perfect! I found black and red candies to fill the candy jar!

I also thought using foam letters to spell out his name would be a cute statement for the table. I found the letters at Michael's Craft Store.

I found this cardboard cup cake stand very cheap at Michael's as well it was on sale for under $4.00 so I purchased it and covered what didn't match with Mickey, it really fit in well with the colors.

He was truly spoiled with presents this day! My goodness!

Liam's first birthday went off without a hitch, a beautiful bbq, beautiful weather, and great company. We could not have asked for more. Liam is truly blessed. We are all so very thankful.

Birthday family photo : )

It's been awhile

I am going to try to keep up with this again, I cant believe I abandoned all 3 of my followers like that! Time has been flying by and Liam's second birthday is fast approaching. If you ask Liam it's going to be a "garbage truck party" but I am incorporating all big trucks and a bit of construction. I cannot wait to blog about that. I cant believe I never blogged about his first birthday, its like i got sucked into the world of Liam for whole year but i am definitely not complaining : )
I am going to set some time aside these next few weeks to catch you up on everything craft , kid and fun that has been going on. Hold tight it is going to be a wild ride!

Another great craft blog for you to read and follow. My mom, Kathy and she loves to craft!

Here are a few updated pictures of Liam
